Meet The Face Behind CG Accounting & Bookkeeping Inc.

I’m Christine Grant, the proud owner of CG Accounting & Bookkeeping Inc. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I started working in the marketing department for a well-known camera manufacturer at the age of nineteen. I worked my way through the company’s ranks, beginning as a marketing secretary and eventually finding my roots in operations and administration reaching the operations manager’s position for the repairs department and order desk. 

After working for the same company for over ten years and a need to spend more time with my family. I joined my husband’s company in a part-time role as systems administrator. I helped lead the companies ISO certification and developed and documented internal procedures. During my non-working hours, I studied and enrolled in programs of accountancy and bookkeeping through Sheridan College and ICS Canada.  

Initially operating out of my basement and starting with pretty much just my husband’s business as a client, I worked hard to reduce the number of hours required on his business from eight to four with efficiencies and procedures and soon, I realized that other small business owners out there needed help streamlining their bookkeeping and business procedures and I wanted more hours to fill my day.  

I pounded the pavement looking for new clients, and my initiative paid off handsomely. In 2006, working from my home office, I had a full day working with my new clients. Fast forward to 2020, CG Accounting & Bookkeeping Inc. is a full-fledged bookkeeping firm. We employ five staff and I am lucky to now be partnered with Stephanie Linneborne who has helped grow the business and manages the staff and their workload. 

My business philosophy can be summed up in four words, simplify, adapt, and move forward. I pride myself on my ability to effectively explain and sort out client accounts, my capacity to adjust and roll with the punches in my business life, and my track record of going from strength to strength to reach my career goals.

I enjoy the opportunities my business gives me to meet and work with diverse industries and owners, and I thrive on the fact I learn something new from them every day.  

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from the others is my diligence, honesty, integrity, and accountability. I attribute my success to my team’s hard work, along with the accuracy they show in their work and their undying dedication to our clients. 

Since starting my business, I can honestly say that I have seen the time and labor-saving effect my practice has had on the companies I serve. I am honored to be a part of my client’s success and genuinely look forward to helping them for many years to come.

When I am not at work, I enjoy doing crossword puzzles. I prefer my crossword puzzles, the old fashioned way, with pen and paper, not the online stuff. I also like cooking, playing the piano, being outdoors, and the occasional online game of Texas Holdem. 

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
